Hemsec SIPS Awarded Barnsley Gateway Plaza Project
Hemsec SIPS have been awarded the contract for the supply of Structural Insulated Panels for the external envelope of the Gateway Plaza Project in Barnsley from the ESL Group.
The project will utilise some 9000m2 of 125mm thick Hemsec SIPS to form the insulated backing system for a wide range of external finishes.
The contractor installing the panels will be ESL Group who has used the product on a previous project in Manchester.
The first panels will be delivered to site in May 2008 in the form of ready to assemble units that can be lifted straight on to the building from the back of the delivery wagons.
A spokesman for ESL Group stated “this will be the second large project we have used the Hemsec SIPS panels. The first was in Manchester where the panels where used in a similar way very successfully to create a very thermally efficient and air tight external envelope”
