Local College for Hemsec SIPS
Hemsec SIPS partner McVeigh SIPS have been awarded a supply, processing and installation contract for the external walls and roof of the £20million Cowley College project at St.Helens.
The project is the latest in a long list of Education Projects completed by McVeigh over the last couple of years and is only 4 miles from Hemsec’s Head office in Prescot.
The project will utilise some 11,000m2 of Hemsec SIPS of various thickness’ to form the full external envelope including the large roof.
The first panels will arrive on site early in May 08 with the programme for the works to extend over approximately 3 months.
Owen Jones from Hemsec SIPS commented “the choice of our SIPS product was due to excellent u-values and structural strength. This accompanied with our SIPS ability to integrate with a wide range of external finishes made the product the ideal choice”.
Jim McVeigh MD of McVeigh SIPS further commented “Hemsec SIPS was the only choice for the main contractor. Meeting the cost plan was important on this project and again we where able to demonstrate the competitive nature of the product against traditional methods of construction”.
Richard Daley MD at Hemsec added “to have been awarded such a prestigious project on our doorstep is a massive bonus to us as we can now showcase our products within our own community. The project is at St Helens where we are, and have been, a member of the Chamber of Commerce for some years now”.
