Hemsec SIPS process partner McVeigh have been awarded a contract to supply, engineer and erect Hemsec 150mm thick SIPS to form the external envelope of a six story community centre in Islington, London.

The Hemsec SIPS panels will form the external envelope of the ground floor community centre and also the 20 apartments which occupy the upper 5 floors.

Jim McVeigh, MD at McVeigh SIPS commented “the design developed such that we where able to allow for the SIPS to be installed continuously with minimal thermal bridging therefore creating the best possible insulated envelope”.

Phil Smith of Hemsec SIPS further commented “this is one of many projects where the Hemsec SIPS are being utilised to form the external envelope of medium to high rise buildings. We are currently working on approximately 15-20 similar projects which will be on site over the next 12 months”.
