Yet Another Hotel for Hemsec SIPS
Hemsec SIPS sister company Hemsec Installations Limited has been awarded a contract to supply and erect Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) manufactured by Hemsec SIPS for the construction of a new 135 bedroom Hotel at Leigh Sports Village.
The construction will involve 14,000m2 of Hemsec SIPS 100m, 125mm and 180mm thick panels to form the supporting element of the structure and also the insulated roof.
The overall makeup of the roof will create a solution which will achieve 0.11W/m2 K resulting in very low levels of heat loss through the external envelope which in turn will reduce energy requirements for space heating.
The project is the latest collaboration with Meadmanor Contracts Limited of Northamptonshire.
Romano D’Ippolito, Director of Meadmanor said: “there is a growing awareness of the build system we have developed in conjunction with Hemsec. The integration of the Hemsec SIPS along with pre-cast concrete floors allows us to create solutions for the Hotel Construction Industry which, from a speed of build and quality point of view, made other construction methods seem somewhat dated”. He went on to say “ that over the past 3 years we have found a partner in Hemsec, both from a product and Installation of product stand point, who we feel very comfortable with, which should allow us to work jointly on many project over the next couple of years”.
Gary Cartwright, Contracts Director at Hemsec Installations added:” working with Meadmanor has made us realise the massive potential the SIPS product has for a variety of uses in the UK construction industry”. He went on to say “the relationship we have with Meadmanor should allow us to enter, jointly, various new markets as well as grow our involvement in the Hotel sector”.
